Spiritual Meanings in Jeremiah, chapter 4

Full text of Jeremiah 4

Verses:
1, 2: Exhortation to refrain from evils and to acknowledge the Lord, from whom those who are in goods and truths will have salvation. [2]
3, 4: Unless they refrain and turn back, they will utterly perish. [2]
5, 6: Those who will acknowledge must be removed while the destruction lasts, [2]
7: because devastation of all things of the church is at hand, [3]
8: which does not come to an end through outward mourning, [3]
9, 10: nor through complaints that they are perishing, although it is said in the Word that they shall be saved. [3]
11, 12: It is answered that they are not willing to acknowledge and receive. [3]
13: Falsities are breaking in. [3]
14, 15: Corruption of the church. [3]
16: in respect to doctrine, [3]
17: in respect to the Word. [3]
18-21: Lamentation thereat. [3]
22: There is no longer any understanding of truth. [3]
22-27: All things of the church have been destroyed, even until nothing remains, [3]
28, 29: and the church has become none. [3]
30: The things of the church could not have been restored among them in any way. [3]
31: Despair of those of whom the new church will consist. [11]
